Scheduled to softly open on 30 November, the South Korean venture by Mohegan will start welcoming visitors to select amenities, setting the stage for what is expected to be a full-scale launch in the first half of 2024.
In the initial soft opening phase, guests will have the opportunity to explore three opulent towers, enjoying culinary delights from over 10 different restaurants and experience the thrill of a cutting-edge multi-purpose arena, a first for Korea. Adding to the entertainment options, the ‘Aurora’ digital entertainment street invites guests to witness an electrifying immersive experience, while ‘Splash Bay,’ the resort’s indoor water park with a spectacular glass dome, promises all-season aquatic fun.
Following this soft launch, the “Inspire Mall” and an exclusive casino for international visitors will open their doors in the first quarter of 2024. The unveiling will continue into the second quarter, with the rollout of additional features such as the ‘Discovery Park’—an outdoor entertainment hub, a diverse food court, and a versatile exhibition center.
Chairman James Gessner of the Mohegan Tribe and Mohegan Management Board has heralded the soft launch as a momentous occasion, expressing gratitude for the partnership with the Korean government in bringing the vision to fruition. Si, with a robust background that includes tenures like that at Las Vegas Sands, is at the helm of the $5.0m project’s financial and strategic trajectory. Ray Pineault, Mohegan president, and CEO has reiterated that while gaming is a facet of the resort’s allure, significant revenue is projected to come from non-gaming enterprises, in alignment with Korean laws that restrict casino access to foreign nationals only.

This includes the strategic appointment of Si and the recruitment of Wade Howk as chief operating officer, whose expertise was previously leveraged at Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati as CFO and interim president.
