With a 6-rupee ticket, a police constable from Kerala’s Thrissur district struck it rich with a one crore reward. Meet Rajesh Menon, a dedicated officer serving in the Ferozepur QRT (quick response team). Rajesh expressed his joy at winning and outlined his plans for the prize money. Hailing from Kerala, Rajesh Menon pledged to support his eight-year-old child’s education with the winnings.
In addition to aiding underprivileged children, Rajesh Menon intends to contribute a portion of the money to local temples. He shared that he bought the winning lottery ticket on his mother’s advice six months ago.

“My mother encouraged me to try my luck with a lottery ticket six months ago,” said Rajesh. “I regularly purchased Nagaland state lottery tickets whenever I visited Ludhiana. While I always hoped for a big win, I never expected it to be ₹1 crore. Four months ago, I won ₹6,000 and was thrilled.”
On Tuesday night while on duty, Rajesh learned of his lottery win. “I received a call from the vendor, Gandhi Traders, informing me that I won the top prize in the Nagaland state lottery. Today, I came to Ludhiana to complete the formalities and collect the amount,” he shared.
Rajesh Menon disclosed that he bought 25 lottery tickets for Rs 150 from a vendor near the Ludhiana train station. Notably, a single Nagaland state lottery ticket costs just six rupees. The lottery announces three results daily at 1 pm, 6 pm, and 8 pm, with the top prize being one crore, followed by nine thousand and four hundred fifty rupees.
Despite his newfound wealth, Rajesh Menon remains committed to a modest lifestyle. He pledged to continue buying lottery tickets and use the winnings for charitable purposes, especially for the education of disadvantaged youngsters.
