ICSE ISC Examination Results Slated for Release: Here’s What You Need to Know

Anticipation and anxiety often go hand-in-hand for students awaiting their final examination results. This year is no different as the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) gears up to unveil the outcomes of countless hours spent on studying and preparing. The results for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE or Class 10) and the Indian School Certificate (ISC or Class 12) final examinations for the academic year of 2024 are scheduled to be released to bated breath and hopeful hearts on Monday, May 6, at 11 am.

In this digital age, accessibility to examination results has been made easier than ever. Students are advised to tap into the wealth of the internet to check their results via the council’s official websites, setting cisce.org and results.cisce.org as their destinations. To pierce through the veil of their performance, students will require their Unique ID and Index Number. Additionally, a simple yet vital step in the process includes entering a CAPTCHA code to ensure the security and privacy of their personal and examination details.

For those who have used digital infrastructure for storing their academic credentials, the tech-savvy can also check their results using the DigiLocker app or its associated website. This alternative method has been duly noted in the council’s statement and stands as a testament to the inclusivity and modernization of educational record management.

The journey to this moment of truth for the 2024 examinations has not been devoid of hurdles. Two papers faced the brunt of unforeseen events resulting in rescheduling, leading to heightened teacher and student concern. The ISC Chemistry examination, initially pinned for February 26, was eventually conducted on March 21 due to “unavoidable circumstances.” The disruption corroded a smooth examination process but was swiftly addressed by the CISCE.

Further complications marred this year’s examinations as the Class 12 Psychology examination encountered a significant security lapse. A missing question paper packet at one exam center necessitated a postponement of the originally scheduled March 27 exam to April 4. This incident, though isolated, underscored the challenges that educational bodies face in maintaining the integrity and security of high-stakes examination processes.

Post-results, the horizon doesn’t just end with acceptance; the CISCE is proactively providing students with the option to apply for re-checking and re-evaluation of their ICSE and ISC scores. To take advantage of this opportunity, students must be willing to pay a fee of ₹1,000 per paper for re-checking and ₹1,500 per paper for a more in-depth re-evaluation. By announcing these options post-declaration of results, the council seeks to ensure the precision and fairness in the evaluation process and to uphold the trust students place in the examination system.

The option for re-evaluation and re-checking is expected to be activated on the council’s website promptly after the official release of results. Students disputing their scores must be attentive to the instructions and deadlines provided by the CISCE to lodge their requests successfully.

Education, in its essence, is reflective of growth and advancement. While students across the nation await their ICSE and ISC results, a collective sense of hope and ambition emanates as they prepare to step forward into new chapters of their educational or professional journeys. As results day inches closer, the CISCE ensures that both its websites are primed for the traffic of students eager to learn the outcomes of their perseverance. With the options for re-evaluation and re-checking in place, students have additional layers of assurance as they look to the future.
