This fortuitous individual captured an extraordinary sum as part of a promotional draw, which ensures that one out of 10 Irish winners receives an additional €1 million alongside the €5,000 prize.

The National Lottery has confirmed that the winning ticket was purchased in Cork. Details about the exact location of the winning store will be unveiled on Sunday, May 19. In every EuroMillions draw held in Ireland, for each line purchased, a player is assigned a unique nine-character IOR code comprising four letters and five numbers on their ticket. From all the IOR codes generated in a specific draw, 10 Irish players win €5,000 each.

On predetermined special draw dates, such as Friday’s draw, each of the 10 IOR winners in that draw win the usual €5,000 and are then entered into an additional special draw. One of these winners then secures an extra €1 million.

During Friday’s draw, the winning ticket with the code I-QQN-12284 was identified, so players who participated in this week’s EuroMillions are being urged to check their tickets, as they could be holding the €1,005,000 ticket.

While the main EuroMillions jackpot remained elusive with no winners, a total of 45,000 players in Ireland clinched prizes in the EuroMillions and Plus games, including the lucky winner of the Ireland-Only Raffle.

The remaining nine winners of the €5,000 each had the following raffle ticket codes:

Another Irish EuroMillions participant experienced a significant windfall this week, landing the top prize of €500,000. The winner from Co Laois purchased their ticket at the Daybreak store on Main Street in Borris-in-Ossory.

Additionally, an online player from Kilkenny celebrated collecting their EuroMillions Plus top prize amount at Lotto HQ this week, which they won in the April 26 draw. The Kilkenny player disclosed that they immediately knew they had won the €500,000 prize but tried to keep it a secret for a while.
