In a major development on Thursday, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) informed the Bombay High Court that the certification of actor-politician Kangana Ranaut’s much-anticipated movie, “Emergency,” is contingent upon the filmmakers adhering to specific edits as recommended by the Revising Committee.
The Division Bench presiding over the case, consisting of Justices B.P Colabawalla and Firdosh Pooniwalla, probed the CBFC’s representative—advocate Abhinav Chandrachud—with a pointed query: “Please give us some good news.” Responding to the Bench, Mr. Chandrachud clarified, “CBFC’s revising committee has suggested certain cuts in the film. If the same are made, the film can be released.”
