Among the films competing in the South Asia Competition are Sandhya Suri’s “Santosh,” Konstantin Bojanov’s “The Shameless,” Shuchi Talat’s “Girls Will Be Girls,” and Lawrence Valin’s “Little Jafna.” Notably, two of these films are official Oscar submissions from their respective countries. The selected works span diverse genres, including fiction, documentary, and animation, with several films making their exclusive South Asian premieres at the festival.

Adding to the festival’s competitive excitement, Raam Reddy’s acclaimed film “The Fable,” starring Manoj Bajpayee, will also be featured In Competition. The film had previously garnered accolades at Berlinale 2024 and is expected to gain further acclaim during the Mumbai festival.
