Actor Parvin Dabas’ Harrowing Road Accident and Recovery Experience

In recent news, acclaimed actor Parvin Dabas, known for his standout roles in films such as the National Award-winning “Khosla Ka Ghosla” and the Prime Video series “Made in Heaven,” found himself in a terrifying situation after a severe road accident in Bandra, Mumbai. Dabas, who is married to Preeti Jhangiani of ‘Mohabbatein’ fame, was rushed to Holy Family Hospital where he was immediately placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As he continues to recover, the actor has opened up about the incident in hopes of shedding light on the importance of safe driving practices.

The accident occurred early in the morning on September 21. Parvin Dabas was driving home from his office in Khar at 5 a.m. when his car hit a divider due to the blinding high beam lights of an oncoming vehicle. The collision left him unconscious on the roadside. “Two boys discovered me lying there and moved me to the sidewalk. I remember them talking about calling an ambulance, and shortly after, I was taken to a nearby hospital,” Dabas told Bombay Times in a detailed recount of the event.

The accident not only served as a frightening personal experience for Dabas but also emphasized a broader social issue: the misuse of high beam lights on roads. “We need to educate people more about driving with high beams on. There have been many occasions when, while driving with my wife Preeti Jhangiani, I have told her that such high beams can lead to accidents. That day, I was returning from work and wasn’t speeding, yet the accident happened,” explained Dabas.

The traumatic event has also had a profound effect on his family, particularly his wife Preeti Jhangiani. “Preeti has been a solid support. She has managed to deal with the situation well,” Dabas expressed. At first, the couple decided not to inform their children about the accident to avoid causing them distress. However, the news soon spread through social circles, and their elder son received a message from a friend offering condolences, mistakenly thinking Dabas had passed away.

. “Then, Preeti told them about the accident and my condition and calmed him down. The incident has helped me appreciate my life and family more.”

Following his discharge from the hospital on September 25, Dabas has been advised by doctors to rest for a period of ten days. He is currently under medication and uses a cane to assist with walking due to lingering vertigo, a condition triggered by the accident. “I am taking pills for vertigo because I feel dizzy every time I get up. I am not walking around much and whenever I do, I am taking the help of a cane. I have been called for a follow-up after a few days,” he shared.

Interestingly, the accident led to a postponement of the upcoming season of the professional panja league, an event that Dabas co-founded. The international arm-wrestling event, originally scheduled to take place soon, has been moved to a later date to accommodate Dabas’ recovery. The event is now set to be held in Mumbai next month.

Parvin Dabas’ ordeal has highlighted the oft-overlooked issues surrounding road safety and the social impacts of sudden traumatic events on families. “This experience has been truly eye-opening,” Dabas concluded. “Life is unpredictable, and we must do our best to minimize risks, especially when these involve something as mundane yet as crucial as road safety.”

While the family copes with the aftermath, Dabas prepares himself for a steady return to normalcy. The actor’s brave acknowledgment of the incident and his critique on driving practices aim to inspire others to adopt safer habits on the road, thereby preventing similar accidents in the future. As he continues to heal, fans and colleagues have been extending their support and prayers, eagerly looking forward to his full recovery and return to the entertainment world.

The recent incidents in Parvin Dabas’ life serve as a compelling reminder of the importance of road safety and the strong familial bonds that offer support in times of crisis. As Parvin Dabas navigates this challenging period, his story is a beacon of resilience and a call to action for safer driving standards and practices.
