The eagerly awaited romantic-horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee, recently concluded its extensive and demanding 40-day final shooting schedule. This marathon schedule was wrapped up in Mumbai after the completion of an equally intense phase in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh. The film, which sees actors Kartik Aaryan and Vidya Balan reprising their roles, is set on a fast track to meet the August deadline for its first teaser release.
July saw the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 cast and crew initiating the final leg of their schedule in Orchha, where Vidya Balan joined them in the historic location. The team was under pressure to wrap up filming by the end of July, so they shot relentlessly for 15 to 20 hours each day. This rigorous timetable was adhered to under the watchful eyes of director Anees Bazmee and producer Bhushan Kumar, who were keen on launching the film’s teaser by the end of August.
A valuable source from the creative team revealed, “The final schedule was extremely grueling and had to be executed promptly to adhere to the production timelines. Our objective was always to conclude the shoot by the end of July.” Throughout their time in Orchha, the team captured various live location shots that added to the authenticity and charm of the film. The Mumbai leg of the shoot took place over the last two weeks, primarily in the Royal Palms, Goregaon, where 11 elaborate sets had been constructed.
These sets included spaces like the rooms of Raja, Rooh Baba, and Manjulika, integral parts of the film’s storyline. Production designer Rajat Poddarr, who had also contributed his expertise to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, meticulously crafted these sets. “After completing the schedule in Orchha, the unit moved on to Mumbai in the second week of July. We commenced shooting at the haveli setup in Aarey Milk Colony before transitioning to the elaborate interiors at Royal Palms,” the source elaborated.
In addition to the climax scenes and action sequences featuring Kartik Aaryan, the final stages also included the shooting of a song that involved the entire cast.
