However, that magical experience will soon become a reality. Disney Cruise Line’s newest vessel, Disney Adventure, is set to embark on three- and four-night voyages from Singapore’s Marina Bay Cruise Centre starting in 2025, marking the company’s first vessel to homeport in Asia for the next five years.
At a media event held in Singapore, which featured surprise appearances by popular characters like Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, Spiderman, and Elsa from Frozen, Disney Cruise Line offered a sneak peek into the much-anticipated ship. Currently under construction in Germany, the Disney Adventure is already generating significant excitement.
Sarah Fox, Vice President and Regional General Manager for Asia at Disney Cruise Line, emphasized the importance of Disney characters in this new offering. “At the center of this experience will be beloved Disney characters with stories of imagination, fantasy, and discovery. Captain Mickey will embody the spirit of Disney Adventure,” Fox said. This statement resonates profoundly as the cruise line celebrates its 25th anniversary, having first launched in 1998.
The Disney Adventure is a colossal vessel boasting an estimated gross tonnage of 208,000, expected to accommodate approximately 6,700 passengers, with a supporting crew of around 2,500 members. Envisioned as a seamless blend of design, entertainment, and technology, the ship is divided into seven immersive experience zones, each inspired by Disney storytelling.
Laura Cabo, Portfolio Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering, described the ship’s layout as resembling a “treasure map with experiences, where magic meets the sea.” The seven zones promise to captivate guests with their unique themes and engaging activities.
The first zone, Disney Imagination Garden, is described as the emotional heart of the ship and features an enchanted valley-like garden through the vessel. “Here, you may see characters flying around behind you,” added Cabo, painting an enticing picture of the wonder that awaits guests.

Wayfinder Bay is another standout area. Inspired by the Pacific Islands, particularly the artistry of the film Moana, this open-air oasis offers guests a poolside retreat where the sky meets the sea. Meanwhile, Toystory Place transforms into a playland brimming with themed food venues and water play areas, bringing characters from Pixar’s Toy Story to life.
Families will find the Disney Discovery Reef particularly engaging. This zone allows them to shop and dine alongside their favorite aquatic characters set in nautical storylines inspired by films like Luca, Lilo & Stitch, and Finding Nemo. Townsquare, on the other hand, is where Disney royals such as Ariel, Rapunzel, and Jasmine entertain guests in lounges, cafes, and restaurants designed to evoke “summer in full bloom.”
San Fransokyo, inspired by the animated movie Big Hero 6, takes on the character of a bustling street market, complete with shops, cinemas, and more. Last but certainly not least, Marvel’s larger-than-life characters will converge in Marvel’s Landin, an adventure zone designed to enthrall guests of all ages.
Laura Cabo added another intriguing layer to the Disney Adventure experience, revealing that the team has included hidden Easter eggs throughout the ship to interest Asian audiences. This thoughtful touch further underscores the emphasis on creating a culturally resonant experience for the new homeport region.
Although specific details about bookings and accommodation options have yet to be released, the anticipation remained high. “Our team has worked diligently to ensure this ship embodies the magic and spirit of Disney stories. We can’t wait to welcome guests aboard in 2025,” concluded Sarah Fox.
