GAIL (India) Limited, a company known for its innovative approaches to environmental conservation, has launched a new campaign titled “Waah Kya Energy Hai.” This campaign aims to shed light on the benefits and accessibility of new, clean, and environmentally friendly fuel options such as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG), which are offered by GAIL and its group companies.
This initiative marks another significant step for GAIL in its Business-to-Consumer (B2C) digital communication efforts, specifically targeting retail natural gas consumers across India. The cornerstone of the “Waah Kya Energy Hai” campaign is a series of four short films presented in a mini-series format. These films narrate the stories of a close-knit middle-class Indian family that transitions to smarter fuel choices like Domestic Pipe Natural Gas (D-PNG), Commercial Pipe Natural Gas (C-PNG), CNG, and Industrial PNG to tackle their everyday challenges.
The series aims to create a relatable and compelling narrative through the characters of the Mishra family. The witty and emotionally engaging storytelling not only entertains viewers but also encourages them to consider switching to cleaner fuels. Each of the four to five-minute-long episodes will be promoted extensively through digital and social media channels, including GAIL’s YouTube channel, various banners, and influencer engagements across multiple platforms.
Renowned actors such as Srikant Verma, Divya Jagdale, Luv Vispute, and Ahmed Khan play pivotal roles in the four episodic short films, adding authenticity and appeal to the campaign’s sustainability message.
GAIL has previously created successful and innovative content campaigns, including the award-winning science-fiction series “Hawa Badle Hassu” and United Nations-endorsed short films “Megha’s Divorce” and “Elephant in the Room.” Both of these earlier works emphasized the importance of making the right environmental choices for ordinary people.
At the launch of the new campaign, Shri Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL, commented, “Wah Kya Energy Hai is strategically crafted with GAIL’s key objectives in mind. It aims to persuade and motivate consumers by presenting natural gas as a smarter, safer, affordable, and futuristic choice that aligns with environmental consciousness and the evolving needs of society. The campaign also endeavors to highlight the advantages of using natural gas over other fuel choices considering the effects on both health and the environment. Through these concerted efforts, GAIL’s campaign aims to catalyze a widespread shift towards cleaner and more sustainable fuel alternatives.
.”
This initiative comes at a crucial time when there’s a global shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy options. With a commitment to the promotion of natural gas as a transformative energy source, GAIL continues to lead in advocating for environmental and societal progress. The company aims to significantly impact individual lives, communities, and the planet by advocating for the extensive adoption of natural gas, given its multifaceted benefits.
