Kangana Ranaut Opens Up About Her Special Bond with Salman Khan and His Reaction to ‘Emergency’ Trailer

Kangana Ranaut, the outspoken and dynamic actress known for her bold stand in Bollywood, recently shed light on her relationship with superstar Salman Khan. As she prepares for the release of her much-anticipated film ‘Emergency,’ the actress took the opportunity to discuss Salman Khan’s kindness towards her, his excitement about her new venture, and her candid reasons for not working with the Khans in the past.

In an engaging conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Kangana Ranaut delved into her interaction with Salman Khan over the years. “Salman has been exceptionally kind to me,” she stated, hinting it wasn’t just professional respect but also personal camaraderie. She further revealed a significant piece of information—Salman had once offered her the lead roles in the highly successful films ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Sultan,’ which eventually went to Kareena Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, respectively. Recalling the moment, Kangana humorously noted, “Salman offered me a role in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan,’ and I was like ‘Yeh kya role diya hai?’ (what is this role?). He then approached me for ‘Sultan,’ but I didn’t take it up. He was like, ‘What more do I offer to you now?’.”

Despite turning down these major film offers, Kangana emphasized that Salman’s demeanor towards her remained incredibly supportive. “Salman is so kind,” she reiterated. “He keeps in touch regularly. He is even excited to watch ‘Emergency.’ We have a mutual friend who he sent to preview the trailer. That friend was to come back and report, which he did, noting Salman saying, ‘It’s a nice film.’ I playfully responded to Salman, ‘So you have the news, but you haven’t watched it yourself.’ This is the kind of bonding we share,” Kangana remarked, smiling.

During the trailer launch event for ‘Emergency,’ Kangana also shared her ambitions of directing the three celebrated Khans of Bollywood—Aamir, Shah Rukh, and Salman.

. “I would love to produce and direct a film with all three Khans. I envision showcasing their immense talent, not just as actors but as contributors to a societal cause through impactful cinema,” she explained.

In another candid interview with Raj Shamani, Kangana addressed why she had previously declined roles alongside the Khans. “I said no to their films because they follow a prototype where the heroine has only two scenes and a song. I aspire for more substantial and meaningful roles,” she declared, shedding light on her commitment to strong female characters.

As for her upcoming film ‘Emergency,’ she expressed bubbling excitement. The film stars an ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, alongside the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. The film, produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, has music composed by Sanchit Balhara, Ankit Balhara, and G.V. Prakash Kumar. Screenplay and dialogues by Ritesh Shah add more layers of finesse to the film. ‘Emergency’ is slated for a theatrical release on September 6, 2024.

Kangana’s readiness for ‘Emergency’ signifies another milestone in her prolific career, owing partly to the support and camaraderie from colleagues like Salman Khan. Her revelations about her interactions with him add another dimension to their professional rapport, highlighting how kindness and mutual respect persist in the highly competitive Bollywood industry.

It is clear from her interviews that Kangana Ranaut values creative independence and substantial roles over blockbuster fame, working on projects that resonate with her ideals.
