After leading his party to victory in all five Lok Sabha seats they contested in Bihar, Chirag Paswan, chief of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), announced on Tuesday that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had extended his congratulations for the party’s stellar performance. Furthermore, Shah mentioned that a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is scheduled to take place tomorrow, and Chirag Paswan confirmed his participation.
“We contested for five seats and won all of them. The Union Home Minister congratulated me on the party’s performance and also mentioned the NDA meeting tomorrow. We will take part in this meeting. The credit for this performance goes to our Prime Minister,” an elated Chirag Paswan declared. He took the opportunity to extend his heartfelt wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, affirming his party’s unwavering support for the NDA government.
“I want to congratulate my Prime Minister Modi because, for the third time under his leadership, the NDA government is going to be formed. This third term under the leadership of PM Modi will take the country to new heights, as he has promised. This government will fulfill all the promises made regarding development. Our party and our MPs support the NDA government,” said Chirag Paswan, adding that the success in Bihar signifies their firm backing for the central leadership.
Addressing the still-ongoing vote counts for other NDA candidates, Chirag Paswan was optimistic about the alliance’s overall performance. “Counting is still underway, and there are many seats where the margin is very low. NDA’s performance has been very good, and it will be even better when the final results come in,” he stated confidently. Notebly, LJP candidates have been leading in all five seats they contested.
Among these candidates, Arun Bharti is leading from the Jamui seat, Rajesh Verma from Khagaria, Shambhavi from Samastipur, Chirag Paswan himself from Hajipur, and Veena Devi from Vaishali.
. Chirag’s Hajipur win has attracted significant attention, given his legacy and leadership in the region.
According to data from the Election Commission, in Bihar’s 40 Lok Sabha seats, several parties have shown varying levels of success. Janata Dal (United) leads in 14 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ahead in 12 seats, LJP in five, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in four, the Congress in two, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation, also known as CPI(ML)(L), is leading in two seats. Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) candidate Jitan Ram Manjhi notably secured the Gaya seat with a win margin of 101,812 votes.
Nationally, the BJP is showing significant strength with 13 victories and leads in 231 other constituencies. The Congress, on the other hand, has secured four wins and leads in 93 seats. Despite mixed predictions from exit polls, the NDA led by the BJP surpassed the majority mark early in the count, while the INDIA bloc also climbed above 200 seats. According to the latest figures from the Election Commission, the NDA alliance leads in approximately 300 seats, while the INDIA bloc follows with around 230 seats. Several exit polls had anticipated a straightforward third term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with some even projecting a two-thirds majority for the NDA.
This electoral success has further solidified the standing of the NDA amidst a fiercely contested election cycle. With the comprehensive win in Bihar, Chirag Paswan’s effective campaign has emerged as a focal point of the NDA’s triumph. Political analysts are already contemplating the future political strategies that could spring from the results nationwide, with Bihar’s clean sweep being particularly noteworthy.
This victory not only underscores the strength of LJP’s local leadership but also reflects the enduring popularity of the NDA’s development agenda as spearheaded by Prime Minister Modi. As the final votes are tallied and the full results become clear, Paswan’s commitment to participating in the upcoming NDA meeting signals a readiness to continue working closely with the alliance at the national level, ensuring that the objectives set forth during the campaign translate into tangible progress for the country.
By securing all the contested seats in Bihar, Chirag Paswan has positioned himself as a key player within the NDA, ready to contribute to its strategic planning and future governance. As the political landscape evolves, all eyes will be on the outcomes of the discussions within the NDA meeting and how they will shape the next phase of India’s political journey under the Modi administration.
