In a significant move, the Andhra Pradesh government, which previously had a cap on ticket prices, has sanctioned an increased rate for “Kalki 2898 AD.” According to an official government order, ticket prices for single-screen theatres have been raised to Rs 75, and multiplexes can charge up to Rs 125. Additionally, the government has granted permission to screen five shows per day for a span of 14 days post-release, as opposed to the standard four. Reports indicate that the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions have alone contributed over Rs 27 crore in advance sales for the film.

An expansive report by Indian Express states that over 1.4 million tickets worth Rs 38 crore have been sold. The film projections suggest a staggering Rs 50 crore in advance sales. Internationally, sales figures are also noteworthy, nearing the Rs 60 crore mark. With such strong numbers, “Kalki 2898 AD” is positioned to potentially rake in a worldwide first-day collection ranging between Rs 180 to Rs 200 crore.

If the film indeed surpasses the Rs 200 crore threshold, it will join the elite club alongside SS Rajamouli’s “RRR” and “Baahubali: The Conclusion” as one of the few films to achieve such an incredible milestone. Apart from “Baahubali,” Prabhas has demonstrated his box office appeal with other films like “Salaar,” “Adipurush,” and “Saaho,” all of which rank in the top 10 highest opening day grosses in the annals of Indian cinema.

“Kalki 2898 AD,” crafted with a massive budget of around ₹600 crores and a runtime of 181 minutes, will hit theatres worldwide on June 27. The film, a pan-Indian project produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, will also be available in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the film features a musical score by Santhosh Narayanan and cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic.

With all eyes set on its release, “Kalki 2898 AD” is poised to potentially break numerous records and establish new benchmarks in both Indian and global cinema.
