In an engaging promotional tour for their upcoming film, Stree 2, Bollywood actors Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor opened up about their personal lives, sharing heartwarming stories of how they spent their very first paychecks. Fans of the stars were treated to intimate anecdotes that highlighted their journeys before they became well-known names in the industry.
As the buzz around Stree 2 grows, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor have been making appearances on various platforms, aiming to generate excitement for the film, which releases this Thursday. Amidst all the chatter about their much-anticipated horror-comedy, the actors took a nostalgic detour to recall the very beginnings of their financial independence.
During a recent episode of the popular interview show, Aapka Apna Zakir, the two stars were prompted to share stories about their first earnings. Shraddha Kapoor kicked off the conversation with a candid revelation. “My parents sent me to America with lots of love. But, because they wanted to keep me grounded, they kept me on a budget with very limited pocket money. However, they said if I wanted more money, I could earn it myself. My dad asked me to get a job there, so I applied for it at a coffee shop. I bagged the job. My first cheque was $40,” she said, smiling fondly at the memory. Apparently, the young Kapoor couldn’t resist the temptation to splurge her earnings on her favorite indulgence – food.
As Shraddha reminisced about her early days abroad, Rajkummar Rao took a moment to reflect on his own humble beginnings. He shared an emotional account of his first paycheck, providing a glimpse into his family’s financial struggles. “I was in high school when I used to go teach dance to a 7-year-old girl at her house. I used to get Rs 300 for training her. The first time when I received my first salary, I think it was six notes of Rs 50.
. I was so happy because the financial situation at my house was not good in those days,” he explained.
For Rajkummar, his first earnings were not just a stepping stone toward financial independence but also a means to contribute to his household in a meaningful way. “I used my first salary to buy groceries. And after buying everything, I was left with some money so I bought desi ghee. It was a big deal for us to have ghee on our rotis,” he recalled, the poignancy of the moment clearly etched in his memory.
The actors’ tales of their first paychecks have not only struck a chord with their fans but have also highlighted their down-to-earth and relatable personalities, making them even more beloved.
Switching gears back to Stree 2, the movie’s promotional activities have been in full swing. A couple of days ago, fans were thrilled when the makers announced advance bookings ahead of the film’s release, aligning it with the Independence Day festivities. Shraddha Kapoor shared the latest poster for Stree 2 on social media with an intriguing caption, “Woh Stree hai, woh kuch bhi kar sakti hai! Isilye woh aa rahi hai ek raat pehle, just for you.” However, eagle-eyed netizens were quick to draw parallels between the poster and Netflix’s popular web series, Stranger Things, pointing out the visual similarities.
In Stree 2, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao reprise their roles alongside Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee, promising viewers a return to the spooky yet comedic world where the enigmatic Stree continues to haunt the men of Chanderi. The film’s recently released trailer has added to the anticipation, showcasing Pankaj Tripathi’s character introducing a new threat: ‘Sarkata.’
The pre-release hype around Stree 2 is palpable, and with the release date just around the corner, audiences are eager to see how the story unfolds. The initial trailer hints at a blend of horror and humor, a formula that worked splendidly for the first film.
The stories shared by Shraddha and Rajkummar about their first paychecks have added a personal touch to the film’s promotions, endearing the actors further to their fanbase. As they gear up to present Stree 2, their reflections on their humble beginnings provide a poignant reminder of the journey many actors undertake in their path to stardom. The film, much like these personal anecdotes, promises to be an entertaining and emotionally resonant experience for audiences.
As Stree 2 hits the cinemas, fans eagerly await to see the continuation of the eerie yet lovable tale, starring their now financially secure and famous actors who, like the rest of us, began their financial journeys with simple, heartfelt purchases.
