Reports are emerging that veteran Bollywood screenwriter Salim Khan, father of superstar Salman Khan, recently made headlines with the acquisition of a brand-new luxury car, a white Mercedes Benz GLS. This high-end vehicle is reportedly valued at Rs 1.57 crore, capturing the attention of fans and the media alike. A pivotal detail that adds intrigue to this otherwise routine purchase is the concurrent escalation in threats facing his son, actor Salman Khan.
The purchase was ceremoniously marked by a ritual, a customary ‘puja’, to bless the new vehicle in accordance with Hindu traditions. Various family members could be seen performing the sacred rite, complete with a garland hanging on the car and a sizable decorative bow perched on the bonnet. However, notable by their absence were Salim Khan himself and his sons, sparking curiosity and adding a layer of mystery to the event.
A video of the new acquisition surfaced on social media platforms, quickly making rounds and capturing the attention of the Bollywood fraternity and Salim Khan’s extensive fan base. The timing of this purchase aligns with Dhanteras, an auspicious day linked with wealth and prosperity, which further explains the celebratory ritual.
Simultaneously, the sinister overlay to these developments is rooted in a chilling encounter Salim Khan experienced last month. During one of his habitual morning excursions along Bandstand in Bandra West, Mumbai, Khan, aged 88, found himself confronted by an unexpected and alarming threat. Around 8:45 am, while taking a momentary respite on a bench near the Windermere building, Salim Khan was approached by an unidentified scooter. Onboard were a man and a woman in a burqa.
. Following an abrupt U-turn, the man issued a frightening warning, ominously stating, “Shall I send Lawrence Bishnoi?” before the scooter sped away.
Despite the unnerving encounter, Salim Khan maintained his composure enough to note part of the scooter’s license plate number, 7444. This prompt reaction facilitated immediate reporting to his security detail and law enforcement, leading to the registration of a case under several sections of the law, including 353(2), 292, and 3(5) BNS.
Linking back to the tension surrounding Salman Khan, it is crucial to understand the gravity of this threat. Lawrence Bishnoi, a notorious gangster, has previously claimed responsibility for the murder of Baba Siddique, an influential political figure and close Khan family acquaintance. The murder, reportedly carried out by three assailants, is rumored to have connections with Siddique’s political support for Salman Khan.
On October 12th, the gangland-style execution sent shockwaves through Salman Khan’s circle, who was visibly distraught upon visiting Siddique’s residence. The actor’s link to the threatening atmosphere traces back to a long-standing animosity with Bishnoi, partially rooted in the controversial 2000s blackbuck poaching case in Rajasthan. The blackbuck, revered by the Bishnoi community, became a symbol of discord following Khan’s involvement in the incident, for which he served short jail time. Since then, the community and its associates have persistently issued threats against Khan, fanning the flames of this ongoing feud.
The delicate situation surrounding Salman Khan calls for heightened security and vigilance, a fact not lost on his family. Salim Khan’s recent vehicular acquisition, intertwined with these profound threats, paints a picture that is as enigmatic as it is compelling, showcasing an intersection of the high-stake glamour and peril that often accompanies celebrity lives in India.
As the Khan family navigates these tensions, the luxury car stands emblematic — a testament to their resilience, an assertion of life amidst looming threats, and a reminder of the inextricable ties between Bollywood’s allure and the darker currents of notoriety that occasionally shadow it.
