Suriya Expresses Gratitude to Aamir Khan as He Prepares for the Mega Release of ‘Kanguva’

In an exciting time for the Indian film industry, the celebrated actor Suriya, who is currently gearing up for his much-anticipated pan-Indian film ‘Kanguva,’ took the opportunity at a recent press conference to thank Bollywood’s revered actor Aamir Khan, fondly known as Mr. Perfectionist. Known for his stellar performances and unique film choices, Aamir Khan has had a pivotal role in shaping modern Hindi cinema, but this time, it was his impact on Suriya’s career that was the talk of the town.

Recalling the turning point in his career, Suriya expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Aamir Khan for introducing him to the broader Indian film fraternity. Reflecting on the significant influence ‘Ghajini’ had on his career, Suriya explained, “I can’t thank you all enough for the love you have been giving me all these years. If I have to recollect my journey, it all began with Aamir sir stepping into the limelight and acknowledging my work, saying, ‘He is the one who did the original version of ‘Ghajini’.’ That moment was pivotal as he introduced me to the entire media, the fraternity, and the nation. I owe it to him for putting my name on the map through ‘Ghajini’. It was an essential milestone in my career, much like ‘Singham’.”

‘Revisiting the Past with ‘Ghajini’ was a reality for Suriya, as Aamir Khan’s 2008 film, a remake of Suriya’s 2005 hit, made waves in Hindi cinema. The film not only became a cultural phenomenon but also established Suriya as a significant name in the industry. With Aamir Khan acknowledging the original work, it paved the way for Suriya to be accepted and loved in the Hindi-speaking belt, further solidifying his position in the Indian cinema landscape.

As Suriya now focuses on his upcoming pan-Indian film ‘Kanguva’, directed by the talented Siva, the expectations are sky-high.

. ‘Kanguva’ promises to be a cinematic spectacle like no other, going down in history as one of the biggest and most expensive films with a staggering budget of over Rs 350 crore. With shooting spanning across seven countries and multiple continents, the film is set in the intriguing backdrop of the prehistoric era, demanding a distinctive look and exceptional expertise.

For this ambitious project, the filmmakers have enlisted talent from Hollywood, focusing on action and cinematography, to ensure the film’s grandeur and authenticity. One of the highlights of ‘Kanguva’ is its massive war sequences, featuring more than 10,000 people, which promises to be an unparalleled visual treat for moviegoers.

However, the release date for ‘Kanguva’ has been postponed from its original October 11 date. The shift was made strategically to prevent a clash with the release of ‘Vettaiyaan’, a Tamil film that marks superstar Rajinikanth’s 170th film and Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan’s debut in Tamil cinema. Also featuring Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier in key roles, ‘Vettaiyaan’ is a highlight of Tamil cinema.

Addressing the delay, Suriya shared, “For nearly three years, more than 1,000 talented individuals have invested their passion and hard work to bring ‘Kanguva’ to life. Director Siva and his team have endured challenging conditions to make this dream a reality. I am hopeful that the audience will appreciate ‘Kanguva’ and show the same love and respect when it releases.” Now, film enthusiasts can mark their calendars for November 14, 2024, when ‘Kanguva’ is expected to finally hit the big screen in 10 languages.

With ‘Kanguva,’ Suriya aims to reach audiences across language barriers, solidifying his stature as a pan-Indian star. As the industry waits in anticipation, it serves as a testament to Suriya’s talent and determination that began years ago with an acknowledgment from Aamir Khan, setting the course of his illustrious film career.
