In a heartfelt and emotional tribute, actor Tusshar Kapoor shared his memories and experiences of working with renowned director Sangeeth Sivan. As the film fraternity gears up for the release of Sivan’s last film, “Kapkapiii”, Kapoor spoke candidly about the passion and dedication that Sivan brought to his craft. “He was very passionate about Kapkapiii, and releasing his film without him will be painful for all of us,” said Kapoor, visibly moved by the loss of his colleague and friend.
Tusshar Kapoor, who had been working with Sivan on “Kapkapiii” alongside Shreyas Talpade, reminisced about the director’s commitment to the project. This film, produced by Jayesh Patel under the banner of Bravo Entertainment and written by Saurabh Anand, also features an ensemble cast including Sonia Rathee, Siddhi Idnani, Jay Thakkar, Varun Pandey, and Dherendra Tiwari. The project, described as Sivan’s passion, is now taking on new emotional significance for all involved.
“Sangeeth Sivan was always cheerful and optimistic,” Kapoor recalled. “He would have wanted his work to be completed just as joyfully and optimistically as he lived his life.” The tone in Kapoor’s voice made it clear that the completion and eventual release of “Kapkapiii” are deeply important to him and the entire team. The task of seeing through the film’s post-production phase is now imbued with a sense of duty to honor the late director’s vision.
Kapoor stated, “Sangeeth’s absence during this crucial phase of post-production is deeply felt. However, I have no doubt that those who worked closely with him, including his family members, will ensure that his vision for the film is fulfilled. We all owe it to him to see this project through to the end, not just for the audiences who will get to enjoy it, but also to offer closure and peace to his legacy.”
Reflecting on Sivan’s working style, Kapoor added, “Sangeeth ji had a very clear vision about the film and the characters in it. He wanted it to be both entertaining and realistic with believable characters.” Kapoor further revealed how Sivan meticulously crafted the look for each character and conducted readings to nurture the chemistry between the actors. His ability to infuse a comfortable and respectful atmosphere on set enabled the actors to deliver their best performances, while staying true to the script and his vision.

Each of these works showcased Sivan’s versatility and unique approach to storytelling, intertwining compelling narratives with in-depth character studies.
The stories he told, the films he directed, and the legacies he left behind have carved a permanent place for him in the annals of Indian cinema. For Kapoor, and many of his colleagues, Sivan was more than a director; he was a mentor and a friend who imparted wisdom and inspired creativity. His multi-genre proficiency—from action to drama and comedy—rendered his films both captivating and influential.
Kapoor’s recollection is an important reminder of Sivan’s dedication to craft, which extended beyond just filmmaking. “He genuinely cared about his actors and everyone on set. There was always a sense of camaraderie and positivity when Sangeeth ji was around.” This statement not only highlights Sivan’s professional rigor but also his compassionate leadership style which left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with.
As the release date of “Kapkapiii” approaches, the film not only stands as a testament to Sangeeth Sivan’s legacy but also to the collaborative effort of those who are committed to seeing his vision realized. Kapoor, while grieving, expresses excitement and determination to ensure that “Kapkapiii” receives the recognition and celebration it deserves. “I’m sad but excited and looking ahead, not just for myself and Kapkapiii, but also for him to finally find peace!” he concluded.
