TV Stars Share Personal Insights on Janmashtami and Krishna’s Eternal Lessons

New Delhi: The jubilant festivities of Janmashtami, commemorating the birth of Lord Krishna, have recently concluded, leaving behind a wave of reflections and heartfelt experiences among TV actors Sahil Uppal, Monalisa, Aayush Shrivastava, and Lakshay Khurana. These actors generously shared their personal memories, cherished moments, and the enduring lessons they’ve drawn from Krishna’s timeless teachings.

Sahil Uppal, known for his role as Gagan in the popular show ‘Saajha Sindoor’ broadcast on Sun Neo, was the first to reflect on his special connection with Krishna. “Though I haven’t had the opportunity to portray Krishna yet, one of my fondest memories from childhood is when I dressed up as Krishna for a celebration. I’ve always admired Krishna’s depth and grace. Given the chance, I’d approach his character with utmost respect and dedication, aiming to authentically capture his essence,” he shared earnestly.

Sahil further elaborated on the profound impact of Krishna’s teachings on his life. “Lord Krishna’s teachings on staying true to oneself and performing one’s duties selflessly have been a great influence on me. His wisdom from the Bhagavad Gita, particularly the focus on actions rather than outcomes, has helped me stay grounded and motivated both personally and professionally,” he explained.

Renowned actress Monalisa, whose powerful performances have carved a niche in the entertainment industry, also shared her sentiments on Janmashtami and Krishna’s influence. “Lord Krishna and his teachings from the Geeta have been my guiding light. This is why Janmashtami holds a special place in my heart. Every year, I decorate the palana (cradle) for Laddu Gopal ji, make new clothes for him, and lovingly place him in the palana after performing the abhishek. If time permits, I enjoy visiting the temple and immersing myself in the bhajans and dances during the Aarti,” Monalisa recounted.

Monalisa’s deep connection to Krishna’s teachings is apparent in her professional approach. “With nearly two decades in the industry, Krishna ji’s teaching, ‘You have the right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions,’ has consistently guided me. Whether it’s my 125 movies, reality show performances, or roles in fiction shows like playing a Daayan, I focus on giving my best without expecting anything in return. The sweetest reward for me is the love and appreciation from my audience,” she expressed.

Aayush Shrivastava, the star of Shemaroo Umang’s supernatural series ‘Shamshaan Champa,’ fondly reminisced about his childhood experiences with Janmashtami. “This festival has always held a special place in my heart, bringing back a flood of childhood memories. Growing up in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, I was surrounded by vibrant celebrations. We would organize ‘matki phod’ events, sing bhajans, and immerse ourselves in the festive spirit. Even now, my family continues to celebrate Krishna’s birth at midnight.

. One of my favorite bhajans to sing is ‘Achutam Keshavam.’ The festival beautifully reminds me of the joy and devotion Krishna inspires in our lives,” Aayush revealed.

Lakshay Khurana, who stars as Aditya in the show ‘Ishq Jabariya’ on Sun Neo, shared his fond memories of portraying Krishna in a school play. “I once played Krishna in a school theater production, and it was an unforgettable experience. Wearing the peacock feather crown and holding the flute, I felt a unique connection to Krishna’s playful yet wise nature. The audience’s applause and the experience of embodying such a beloved character still bring a smile to my face. It’s a role that truly left a lasting impression on me,” Lakshay recalled.

As the echoes of the recent Janmashtami celebrations fade, these actors’ heartfelt reflections underscore the festival’s enduring impact and the timeless relevance of Krishna’s teachings in their lives. Each actor’s unique connection to Krishna’s philosophy has not only shaped their personal growth but also influenced their professional artistry.

Sahil Uppal, reflecting further, reiterated the importance of Krishna’s teachings in maintaining a balanced life. “It’s about performing one’s duties with sincerity, not being attached to the results. This principle has helped me stay focused and motivated, regardless of the challenges and successes I encounter,” he said, emphasizing the practicality of Krishna’s wisdom in everyday life.

Monalisa, deeply influenced by Krishna’s counsel, added, “The essence of giving my best without expecting returns has become a core part of who I am. It’s a guiding light that keeps me humble and dedicated to my craft. The love from my audience is the most genuine reward I could ever ask for,” she reiterated, highlighting the reciprocal relationship she shares with her fans.

Aayush Shrivastava’s nostalgic reminiscence brought a personal touch to the importance of festivity. “The rituals and traditions of Janmashtami foster a sense of community and devotion that I relive each year with my family. Singing our favorite bhajans and participating in time-honored traditions keep the spiritual essence of Krishna alive in our hearts,” he observed.

Lakshay Khurana’s portrayal of Krishna during his school days left an indelible mark on him. “Portraying Krishna taught me the value of embodying his playful wisdom and profound teachings. It’s an experience that not only contributed to my growth as an actor but also enriched my understanding of Krishna’s character,” Lakshay conveyed.

As these actors and countless devotees across the globe reflect on Janmashtami, it is evident that Lord Krishna’s teachings continue to inspire, guide, and resonate, proving their timeless relevance and profound impact.
