Samsung Sets New Benchmarks in AI Television Innovation for India

As the global market anticipates developments in home entertainment, the year 2024 is marked as a pivotal moment for Samsung’s innovations in Artificial Intelligence in television technology. During a recent event in Bengaluru, J.B. Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, announced the arrival of a groundbreaking new range of television sets in India, including the Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, and OLED TVs, all equipped with advanced AI capabilities.

“Samsung is bringing the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across product categories to improve consumers’ lifestyles. That’s why we have integrated AI into home entertainment to offer exceptional viewing experiences for our consumers,” expressed J.B. Park while unveiling the highly anticipated products. These advancements are not just about enhancing the visual and auditory experience; they also encompass strides in accessibility, sustainability, and heightened security.

The centerpiece of Samsung’s announcement was the 2024 range of Neo QLED 8K TVs, which boast the NQ8 AI Gen3 Processor. This processor is equipped with a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that propels its neural network capabilities from 64 to an astounding 512, securing an eight-fold increase. This improvement guarantees viewers an unparalleled experience featuring crisp details and enhanced visual engagement.

Alongside the new technology’s impressive specifications, the AI Picture Technology embedded in these TVs is another leap forward. It refines the image quality, enhancing the clarity and naturalness of each scene. Facial expressions and intricate nuances are brought into sharper focus, elevating the viewing experience to breathtaking heights. AI Upscaling Pro adjusts lower-resolution content to harmonize with the 8K display, ensuring every show or movie is seen with optimal quality.

Addressing the audience during the event, Mohandeep Singh, Senior Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung India, shed light on the changing landscape of television as a fixture in modern homes. He pointed out the growing inclination toward larger screens in the Indian market, indicating a shift in consumer preference towards more premium television products.

With an eye on the evolving market, Samsung is setting the bar exceptionally high with its new range of AI televisions. “Televisions have emerged as the centerpieces of modern living, seamlessly integrating technology and lifestyle. The rising demand for larger screen sizes in India reflects consumers’ preference for premium TVs,” said Mohandeep Singh. Emphasizing Samsung’s confidence in these latest models, he added that the company anticipates these innovations will solidify its market leadership in India.

Particularly noteworthy among the plethora of features is the AI Motion Enhancer Pro. This innovative feature incorporates a sophisticated motion detection algorithm, which greatly improves clarity during fast-moving content such as sports, allowing the viewers to track every movement in crystal clear quality. According to Mr. Singh, this feature is designed to make the viewer feel as though they are watching the action unfold live in a stadium.

In an industry first, Samsung has introduced the world’s inaugural glare-free OLED TV, heralding a new standard in display technology. This novel TV eliminates “unnecessary reflection,” enabling the preservation of deep black levels and clear images under any lighting condition.

The event highlighted Samsung’s commitment to transforming the television industry with AI innovation, paving the way for a new era in home entertainment. The integration of advanced AI technologies in Samsung’s latest television models is set to offer an immersive and unparalleled viewing experience to consumers, establishing Samsung as an unrivaled leader in the global AI TV market as 2024 approaches.
