As the excitement for Super Bowl LVIII reaches a fever pitch, bettors in Arizona have a new player on the field to enhance their wagering experience. Bet365, a global leader in online sports betting, has officially opened its virtual doors to customers in the Grand Canyon State, allowing them to place pre-event and in-game bets across a broad spectrum of sports. With its timely launch in Arizona, Bet365 is poised to capitalize on one of the most anticipated sports events of the year.
Arizona sports enthusiasts now have access to Bet365’s advanced betting options, which include the increasingly popular same game parlay, the convenience of a cash-out feature, and an ‘edit bet’ option, providing greater control over betting slips. This expansion into the Arizonian market is the latest in Bet365’s strategic moves across the United States, marking another milestone following successful launches in various states including Kentucky, Louisiana, Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, Iowa, Colorado, and Indiana just last month.
In a statement, a spokesperson from Bet365 expressed enthusiasm for the Arizona market, “Like Bet365, the Arizona sporting scene is Never Ordinary and boasts several professional and college teams, earth-shaking, fan-favorite moments, and exhilarating championship events. Just in time for the big game, sports fans in the Grand Canyon State can enjoy the Bet365 experience, including market-leading offerings like amazing bet boosts, the fastest in-game product, and same game parlays.”
To solidify its commitment to community engagement and local growth, Bet365 has entered into a partnership with the Ak-Chin Indian Community. As part of this collaboration, Bet365 pledged a substantial charitable contribution of $1 million to the tribal organization. The intention is for these funds to bolster local initiatives that directly benefit the Ak-Chin tribal members.
Ak-Chin Indian Community chairman Robert Miguel openly welcomed the partnership with Bet365, focusing on the mutual benefits it presents. He said, “We are excited to partner with Bet365, and appreciate its charitable contribution to the Community and vital services for Ak-Chin Members. With Bet365, we will be able to provide our customers a premier experience, no matter whether they visit our sportsbook in-person or online.”
This latest foray into the Arizona sports betting market comes on the heels of a record-breaking month for the state in terms of betting handle. In November, Arizona saw its monthly handle soar to $713.6 million, a 3.3% increase from the previous high set in March 2022. Of that total, a stupendous $705.7 million was wagered through online platforms, while $6.1 million was attributed to retail sportsbooks. Additionally, $1.8 million came from limited event wagering operators within the state.
Despite the record handle, revenue numbers indicated a notable decline. Total revenue for November was 45.9% less than the $37.5 million from November of the previous year, and 38.5% behind October’s $33.0 million. A breakdown of the revenue showed online betting contributing $19.9 million, retail venues generating $338,476, and limited event wagering adding $96,986 to the mix.
Amidst this landscape, DraftKings and its partner Crown Gaming were the forerunners in the online sector, posting $9.7 million in revenue from a substantial $229.4 million in wagers. Although FanDuel processed a higher volume of bets at $249.3 million, its revenue stood at $7.7 million. Bally Interactive was the only other operator to surpass the $1.0 million mark in online revenue, achieving $1.9 million from $91.7 million in wagers.
As the sports betting industry in Arizona continues to flourish, Bet365 is gearing up to become a dominant force. With the Super Bowl just around the corner, all eyes are on Bet365 to see how its vast array of betting options and strategic partnerships will shape the sports betting landscape in the Grand Canyon State.
