The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has solidified a strategic partnership with ProhiBet, intending to fortify sports integrity and compliance with varied state-specific wagering regulations. This collaborative effort aims to establish a robust barrier against illicit betting by preventing league-affiliated individuals like athletes and coaches, who are prohibited from placing bets, from engaging in gambling activities centered on the league’s events. Leveraging ProhiBet’s sophisticated cross-monitoring and alert systems, the goal to achieve this is set firmly in place.
Matt Heap, Managing Director of ProhiBet, manifested his excitement over the new collaboration, stating that the joint efforts of the PFL and ProhiBet are geared towards reinforcing compliance within the sports betting arena. Heap praised the partnership, emphasizing, “We are thrilled to partner with the PFL. The combination of ProhiBet’s state-of-the-art encrypted data transfer system and the PFL’s dedication to upholding the integrity of sports will undoubtedly enhance the transparency and trustworthiness of sports betting activities.”
Formed as a joint venture between US Integrity and Odds On Compliance, ProhiBet exists at the confluence of US Integrity’s expertise in wagering monitoring services for sporting entities and Odds On Compliance’s proficiency in compliance technology and consulting within the sports betting and gaming industry. Officially launched in February 2023, ProhiBet represents the inaugural output from the Secure Sports Solutions joint project.
In the recent past, ProhiBet struck the ground running by securing a deal with the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Big 12 Conference in August, marking one of the first sports properties to utilize their service. The Big 12 Conference outlined the adoption of ProhiBet as a segment of a comprehensive strategy to bolster its governance in sports wagering, which also includes intensifying control over the distribution of its own sporting data.
Just months prior to the PFL deal, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) also confirmed its partnership with ProhiBet, delineating a series of strategies aimed at ensuring fair and regulated betting in the sport. Meanwhile, the UFC has also cultivated a new relationship with the world of gambling by announcing online gambling operator Stake as its fresh sponsorship partner, as of yesterday, February 19.
This association with Stake is set to enhance the betting experience linked to UFC events, delivering exclusive promotions and VIP experiences. Stake, which also recently became the exclusive title sponsor for Sauber Group’s Formula One team for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, is working closely with the UFC to generate exclusive content featuring athletes like Israel Adesanya, who is now Stake’s brand ambassador.
Nick Smith, UFC Vice President of Global Partnerships, expressed his enthusiasm about this dynamic partnership with Stake. “We’re thrilled to partner with an exciting and emerging brand like Stake to offer exclusive digital and social content to our fans, as well as an innovative gaming experience,” Smith remarked. He further emphasized UFC’s commitment to innovation, citing Stake as a unique platform that allows fans to immerse themselves in the thrill of UFC events.
In light of these developments, the Sports betting landscape appears to be undergoing a transformative phase, with leading organizations like the PFL and UFC taking proactive measures to ensure the integrity and trust in sports betting through alliances with cutting-edge compliance and monitoring services. As the convergence of sports and gambling continues to grow, these partnerships are pivotal in safeguarding the ethical standards and regulatory compliance that are essential to the industry’s sustainable future.
